Amelia’s First Birthday!

I thoroughly ENJOY going to special little peoples’ first birthdays and capturing their VERY FIRST birthday celebrations. Isn’t Amelia the cutest?!

I will post just a few here, but if you want to see a really really CUTE slideshow, make sure you click here. :)

First we did a mini-session with the birthday girl and her family.

Jamie and Doug

This lovely couple has made an appearance on my blog already, a while back. One of my first engagement session back then. They needed a specific picture for their Save the Dates, so I met up with them to get that, and while I was with them, I did some other fun photos also. :)

Family

I photographed just a few family portraits for some of my own family, and some of my own “family”. ;) :) Four (well, five now) of these gorgeous people are really related, the others are related by marriage, but I like to claim them as my own because they are so awesome! :)

Here are just a few. . .

When it rains on your parade, what better way to make things better? Take pictures with colorful umbrellas. (LUCKILY it had stopped raining right before these were taken. Like, IMMEDIATELY right before these were taken. Hence the umbrellas.) :)

This is my Aunt, Uncle, cousin Katie, cousin Mitchell and Katie’s Husband Jon.

This is my Aunt’s side of her family, so they aren’t technically related to me, but like I said, I like to claim them as my own because they are so awesome! :)

I <3 this photo! :)

AC and all her sibblings.

Then we took some pictures of just my cousin and her husband. She didn’t get the chance to have engagement photos, back in 2007, so she wanted a few fun ones. :) Here are just a few.
Isn’t she gorgeous?

Well Crud!

Disregard that previous message. Photobucket is not cooperating with me, so until I can figure out what the heck is going on with that, I will not be updating. DARN IT, and I actually found a few minutes to do so. GRRR!

Elizabeth & Family

I’ve decided that I can’t call her a “client” anymore. She is more of a friend now! :)

Update!

A few fellow photographer friends have been “yelling” at me to update my blog. So, here we go! . . .

Sara and Tim ~ Shoot-a-Thon Trash the Dress Session

Here are some pictures from the first shoot-a-thon that I hosted on June 14, 2009.

I accomplished what I had hoped to with this session. Inviting beginners to come out and get some good pictures for their portfolio. Something I wish there would have been more of when I was FIRST starting out back in the day (2006). Crista Chitwood, from Springfield, IL, who has been in the business for a while brought some of her equipment with her and was very helpful with tips.

Here are just a few of the pictures that I took at the Shoot-a-Thon.
Sara is a co-worker of mine. June 14, 2009 was actually Sara and Tim’s one year anniversary. Sara also brought one of her Bridesmaids with her, Amanda, who also had a ton of fun!

We started at the Arch grounds.

Then took a few at The Landing.

Then moved over to the graffiti wall, which is South of The Arch.

Then we moved over to this abandoned area over by the graffiti wall, which also had a small “field” like area, which was pretty neat.

And then we took a few in front of Busch Stadium.

And we finished in Kiener Plaza.

Then it was water time.
She’s looking a little nervous about dropping that dress into the water!

There it goes!!!

Oh my gosh. . .what did I just do?

Then it was time to go home. :(
Good thing they brought some towels. They were soaked!

This is a great way to spend your 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, etc. anniversary! Or you can do it not even on your anniversary, just to have some fun. Sara’s dress just got wet. . .nothing a little dry cleaning couldn’t take care of!! ;)
Contact me if you would want to do something like this!
(I may even invite some other photographers to come along! :) )
