I met up with the Rooks Family a few weeks ago for some family photos. It was a family shoot that was a little out of the ordinary. . .just taking pictures of them having a good time. These are just a few of my favorites.




At first the little guy wasn’t too sure about me (as you can see here). . .but eventually warmed up later in the session.

Believe it or not, this one wasn’t staged/posed. . .this little guy did not want to sit still. He was all about making adorable faces all day though!

They brought their costumes too! Pink Lady and Yoda.

George & Bonnie had a very small intimate ceremony at a beautiful park in IL. Here are a few favorites from their beautiful day.

Man, I have a LOT to catch up on! :O

Sarah and Jamie got married on a very rainy day. It poured the whole time the girls were getting ready and it sprinkled the whole time we were driving to the ceremony. When we got there and it was time for Jamie and Sarah to do their “first meeting” (I LOVE WHEN CLIENTS DO THIS), the sun came out and we got time for fun pictures of the couple and formals. Just in time for the outside ceremony, it poured again. Sarah and Jamie had to move things inside the hall where the reception was going to be. I felt SO sad for them, but they took it like champs. (I would have been crying. haha) There were no time for more pictures between the ceremony/reception, so thankfully we got most of them done before it started pouring again. The only thing we really missed were just a few [fun] pictures of the bridal party. But, it is all about the bride and groom and we got PLENTY of awesome pictures of them that day!

We [jokingly] tried to tell her to keep her hair just like this!

I love turning clients into friends.

I don’t have a lot of time, I’m trying to get caught up and have a lot to blog about, so I’m just going to post pictures for the next few entries.

I thoroughly ENJOY going to special little peoples’ first birthdays and capturing their VERY FIRST birthday celebrations. Isn’t Amelia the cutest?!

This lovely couple has made an appearance on my blog already, a while back. One of my first engagement session back then. They needed a specific picture for their Save the Dates, so I met up with them to get that, and while I was with them, I did some other fun photos also.

“The Proposal” was showing!

I photographed just a few family portraits for some of my own family, and some of my own “family”. Four (well, five now) of these gorgeous people are really related, the others are related by marriage, but I like to claim them as my own because they are so awesome!

When it rains on your parade, what better way to make things better? Take pictures with colorful umbrellas. (LUCKILY it had stopped raining right before these were taken. Like, IMMEDIATELY right before these were taken. Hence the umbrellas.)

This is my Aunt’s side of her family, so they aren’t technically related to me, but like I said, I like to claim them as my own because they are so awesome!
